About

You may already know that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measures economic activity, but do you know how economic indicators and other economic data from the Census Bureau are used in calculating the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)?

With help from colleagues at the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), "The Building Blocks of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)" webinar will provide you key information on the BEA and their data products, background and definition of the GDP, and the role of Census Bureau economic data in calculating the GDP.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by Metropolitan Area

In September, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) issues its time series on GDP data by metropolitan area, and its revised data.

When issued, the news release will be available on the BEA Regional Economic Accounts site, which is where the latest state and metro area GDP data can be found.
